Dear Parents or Guardians of Rockburn ELLs,
Welcome to the 2019-2020 school year at Rockburn, I am the ESOL (English for Speakers of Other Languages) teacher at the school. This will be my thirteenth year at Rockburn and my twenty-third year in the Howard County Public School System. I was a Gifted and Talented Resource teacher for 10 years prior to becoming an ESOL teacher. I am half-time at Rockburn on Tuesdays, Wednesday mornings, and Fridays. The rest of the time I am at Elkridge Elementary.
When I am not teaching, I love to travel with my husband. In July 2013, we finally visited all fifty states in the United States. I love to travel because I learn so much about the culture and food of the area. I have visited my home country of Vietnam along with Japan, China, Jordan, France, Germany, Hungary, Czech Republic and a few other countries in Europe.
Information about the Howard County ESOL program can be found at https://www.hcpss.org/academics/esol/. The four major goals for elementary school ESOL students are for them to:
